Bluetooth usually requires you to download a separate app and does not allow you to make changes directly via the cloud. Most other lock manufacturers use third-party solutions to unlock doors via an app.
Your Mobile Key operates via a cloud-based platform, so the system remains online and offers greater flexibility in managing access. We consider Bluetooth to be a less secure and outdated solution for modern access control. For the highest level of security, an intelligent access platform is required.
If the guest's phone has run out of battery, the door can still be opened with a key card or QR code. These can be obtained from the hotel reception or from a card dispensing kiosk.

We believe that downloading the app and the subsequent registration emails are not a convenient or welcoming solution, particularly for guests staying for a short time. Downloading the app may also create an unnecessary hurdle to using the mobile key.
The app can be useful for services you use regularly, but it isn’t always the best solution for short stays. If your hotel already has its own app, that’s no problem: our API can be integrated with your app provider. At the same time, we believe that the future lies with PWA — Progressive Web App.
